Pearl’s Books celebrated their one year anniversary while facing challenges

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – Pearl’s Books is an independent bookstore in Fayetteville. The store is located on the downtown square.

Co-owners, Daniel and Leah Jordan opened their doors last October. The Jordans hope that their store provides a “gathering place for people to connect again, safely, over drinks, snacks, and of course, books.”

Outside of enjoying the store on an everyday basis, you can also host a private event at Pearl’s. For more information on how to get involved in community, private or fundraising events and book fairs, head to the bookstore’s website.

A few months into the start of their new adventure, Leah was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer called glioblastoma.

Because of this diagnosis, the store has had to pivot a lot through the year they have been open. Nevertheless, the Jordans stayed dedicated to their store and have made it to their one year mark.

Leah gives all her thanks to her husband, Daniel, and her hardworking staff. Without them, and the help of the community, what they do would not be possible, Leah said.

The Jordan’s currently donate ten percent of their proceeds to Hope Cancer Resources in Springdale. Personal donations can be made via the Hope Cancer Resources.
