MULBERRY, Ark. (UATV) – Arkansas deputies, Levi White and Zachary King were fired after a video was recorded of them violently arresting a suspect in August. White, King and Thell Riddle arrested 27-year-old Randal Worcester outside a convenience store in Mulberry. A bystander witnessed and recorded. 

Worcester was questioned for threatening a clerk at a convenience store, according to Crawford county sheriff Jimmy Damante. Worcester tackled one of the deputies and punched him in the head before being arrested, Damante said. 

The video of the arrest shows one deputy holding Worcester down while another deputy punched and kneed Worcester in the head. The officer then grabbed his hair and slammed him against the ground. 

Worcester filed a federal lawsuit against the local officials and the officers because they violated his constitutional rights. The lawsuit includes Worcester’s permanent injuries suffered from the arrest that requires continued medical treatment. 

Worcester was jailed on charges of second-degree battery and resisting arrest. He was then released on a $15,000 bond the following day.

After the arrest video circulated on social media, the three officers were suspended. The investigation was wrapped up last month. It has not been announced whether the three will face charges.
