Applying to Graduate: What You Need to Know

By: Harper Buck

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Graduation is right around the corner, and students planning to complete their degree must take action to ensure everything is in place. Applying to graduate is a required step for all students and includes two major components that must be completed by the deadline.

First, students must log into Workday and apply for program completion. This step lets the university know you plan to graduate. Instructions on how to apply are available online and walk students through the process step by step.

Students graduating in Spring 2026 must enter an expected completion date of May 8, 2026, when applying in Workday. Students who plan to finish classes in the summer but want to take part in the spring commencement ceremony should still apply for spring graduation and use the same completion date.

The second step is completing a Microsoft form. This form collects information for diplomas and commencement, such as how your name will appear and whether you plan to attend the ceremony. Students should check their answers carefully. If changes are needed after submitting the form, instructions are available on how to edit graduation and commencement information.

“The application process was easy to follow and didn’t take very long,” said Ashley Jordan.

Students are encouraged to complete both steps early to avoid problems. Applying on time helps make sure diplomas are processed correctly and students can take part in commencement.
