Naloxone training for U of A community

By: Gabriella Phelan

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) — The U of A community now has the opportunity to learn how to save a life.

Pat Walker Health Center’s Substance Education, Assessment & Recovery (SEAR) program, in partnership with Northwest Arkansas Harm Reduction, is bringing Naloxone training sessions to campus.

In each training, participants will learn to detect the signs of an opioid overdose, and how to appropriately respond and administer the life-saving drug.

All who attend will leave with drink covers and their own Naloxone kits to use in case of emergency.

Training sessions will be offered throughout the semester in Arkansas Union room 305. All students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to participate

The next training will take place on Oct. 19, at 5:30 p.m.
