FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – The Arkansas Weimaraner Rescue is a local nonprofit organization in Fayetteville. They rehome and rescue strays, surrendered and homeless dogs. They also provide public education on the breed of weimaraners and on responsible dog ownership.
Dogs can be adopted and fostered through AWR. There are also opportunities for individuals to help transport dogs. Volunteering your time is also an option at AWR.
AWR has been able to rescue dogs in NWA and across state lines for more than two decades. They can do this with the help of volunteers and other nonprofit organizations. Pilots n Paws is one of those nonprofits that partners with AWR.
Pilots n Paws has volunteer pilots who fly in dogs to the area if needed. On their website, you can request flights or become a volunteer pilot yourself.
Since 2020, there have been nearly 400 dogs adopted through the rescue. There are currently five adoptable dogs at AWR right now.
Applications to help, adopt, and learn more about weimaraners can be found on Arkansas Weimaraner Rescue’s website.
There are always dogs in need of a foster or forever home.
