Head Hog Fired

Fayetteville, ARK. – Head Hog Chad Morris has been fired. Director of Athletics, Hunter Yurachek, made the announcement yesterday, stating, “As part of my continued evaluation, I have come to the conclusion that a change in leadership is necessary to move our football program forward and position it to success.”

In his two years leading the team, Morris held a record of 4-18 with the worst winning percentage in head coach history. Morris was brought in for his “explosive offense” after the firing of Bret Bielema, but failed to showcase that offense.

Barry Lunney Jr. is the interim coach for the remainder of the season. This is his seventh season working for the Razorbacks as tight ends coach, and he is a former starting quarterback for Arkansas.

Lunney Jr. and Yurachek held a press conference earlier today. The main theme was focusing on the players. “There’s 120 men that work their tails off for nine months to have the reward and that opportunity to put on that uniform 12 Saturdays during the fall,” Yurachek said, “That should be a rewarding experience for them. That should be something they enjoy. And as I spent time with our student athletes before, during, and after games, I got the sense they were no longer enjoying that experience on Saturdays.”

Lunney Jr. said they don’t owe anything to anyone except the players, and assuring they have the best possible experience for the next three weeks of the season.

The Hogs have a bye week, but then play LSU, the top ranked team in the SEC.
