Recap of the Arkansas vs Georgia game

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) — No. 2 Georgia rushed for 254 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-17 win over Arkansas on Saturday at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

The Bulldogs totaled 464 yards and scored on five of their first six trips inside the Arkansas red zone. Arkansas finished with 300 yards, including 17 rushing yards on 20 attempts.

Arkansas’ opening drive covered 37 yards but ended when KJ Jackson’s fourth-down pass fell incomplete. Georgia answered with a 62-yard touchdown drive. A 62-yard run by Gunner Stockton set up Chauncey Bowens’ second touchdown, making it 21-0 in the second quarter.

Stockton had a career-high 97 rushing yards on seven carries and threw for 147 yards and a touchdown. His 61-yard touchdown pass to freshman Craig Dandridge Jr. came early in the fourth quarter. Nate Frazier ran for 75 yards and Bowens scored three times.

Jackson completed 20 of 27 passes for 212 yards and a touchdown. AJ Hill went 8-for-14 for 76 yards. Chris Marshall had seven catches for a career-high 136 yards, the first 100-yard receiving game against Georgia by a Razorback since Treylon Burks in 2020, according to Arkansas’ postgame release. Sutton Smith led Arkansas with 17 rushing yards and scored on a 5-yard run with 8:30 remaining. Jackson threw a 2-yard touchdown pass to Ty Lockwood with 40 seconds left.

Arkansas finished with three sacks and six tackles for loss, but Georgia held the ball for 35:40 to Arkansas’ 24:20.

“Maybe took a little bit of a step today,” Arkansas coach Ryan Silverfield said.

Georgia improved to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in SEC play. Arkansas fell to 1-2 and 0-1. The Razorbacks host Tulsa next Saturday.
