FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) — Fayetteville is set to host events every day of the week from the 17th to the 25th of April in celebration of Earth Week. There will be multiple opportunities each day for individuals to participate in activities cleaning up around the area.

Some of the events include community cleanups, bike rides and other hands-on activities beneficial in caring for places around Fayetteville.

The event is centered around Earth Day which is on April 22nd. However, Earth Week has become a Fayetteville tradition. This year’s celebration is starting a day earlier than usual.

During Earth Day, there will be multiple events throughout the day starting with a bike-to-work day. The goal is to help the environment while enjoying the outdoors. This will also include an energizer station in the upper ramble as well as free breakfast and a Highroller Cyclery to help with bike maintenance.

Some specific activities participants can engage in involve tree plantings, workshops, films and panel discussions, events based around waste reduction and exploring the outdoors throughout the city. Each activity is designed to encourage people to keep Fayetteville clean and educate residents.

There will be a tree giveaway as well as a commemoration for the 2026 amazing tree of Fayetteville. This event will begin on the 18th at 7 A.M. at the farmers market on the downtown square. The presentation foe the Amazing Tree of Fayetteville will be on Monday at 4 P.M.

An event for removing invasive species will also take place on shortly after the presentation at 5. People can join the Environment Action Committee and the Watershed Conservation Resource Center at the Fayetteville Library. Dinner and soft drinks will be available to those who participate.

Beginning on April 18th, there will be a citywide cleanup and it will continue throughout the week.

The theme for the week is “Our Power, Our Planet.”
