Northwest Arkansas diaper bank aims to alleviate diaper need

By: Maddi Phipps

SPRINGDALE, Ark. (UATV) –  The Diaper Collective, a non-profit diaper bank, is entering its fourth year serving the Northwest Arkansas region.

Across the nation, 1 in 2 families are in diaper need.

The Diaper Collective serves 800 babies a month, totaling just over 5 percent of the in-need population across Washington, Benton and Madison Counties.

The bank works similarly to a food bank, relying on donations from community members. The annual spring drive concluded earlier this month and with a new 3,000-square-foot warehouse to hold donations, the Diaper Collective can thank the community for giving back.

“I know that the community really cares and they’re willing to fight with us to help end diaper need,” says Development Coordinator, Emma Brown.

The bank, the first of its kind in Arkansas, has distributed over 680,000 diapers since its creation in 2020.

The Diaper Collective does not distribute diapers to individuals directly but serves as a warehouse for several partner agencies.

Partner locations handing out diapers can be found in Springdale, Fayetteville, Siloam Springs, Rogers and Bentonville.
