FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV)- This week the University of Arkansas is celebrating International Education week.

Along with the theme, “Discover: The World in Arkansas, Arkansas in the World”, each day will consist of events catered around a different theme to allow students to learn more about international culture.

Yesterday’s theme was “Discover Celebrations”, while today is “Discover Arts and Culture”. Today’s festivities will end with the Dance Around the World event at 6p.m.

Wednesday’ events will be based on issues and ideas, which will include several language learning based events and a concert with Alison Robuck and Ayako Tsuruta at 7:30pm. Thursday is global flavors, and will include Nigerian Food Sample Pop-Up.

The week will end with Friday’s theme “Discover Play”, where different cultural games, pastimes and hobbies will be demonstrated across campus. A full list of the week’s events and details can be found on the International Students and Scholars website.

“International Education Week is an opportunity for our campus to celebrate the transformational impact of international exchange on the University of Arkansas,” said Cynthia Smith.

Smith is the assistant director for outreach in the Office of International Students and Scholars and coordinator of the week’s events.

“We hope that the campus will join us in participating in the many events we have to offer.”
