FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – An annual speech and debate competition, the Red River Classic, took place this past weekend at the University of Louisiana, Shreveport.
The University of Arkansas’ own Speech and Debate team sent 15 students to participate. This is the largest number of students the team has sent to the competition since 2021
After the weekend competition, the team returned to Fayetteville with 16 awards, and many of their own records broken. The team also received a 5th Place Sweepstakes award.
In just three tournaments this season, the team has already won as many awards as they did in the 2021-22 year.
The Speech and Debate team will next compete in the Jimmy Jungle Virtual Tournament, hosted by the University of Jamestown.
