FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) — The University of Arkansas homecoming game is right around the corner and the campus is calling all the hogs home.
The homecoming weekend includes activities, but one yearly tradition is the homecoming court.
The Associated Student Government has narrowed down the court to twelve men and women who are in registered student organizations on campus.
Hailey Hoog, the ASG vice president, said, “Nominations come from each individual registered student organization, so even just to be nominated is a feat in and of itself.”
This coming Thursday the final seven king and queen candidates will be announced at the Chancellor’s Ball. It is a free and formal event for all students on campus and is a way to honor the candidates.
The final fourteen have gone through stages of applications and interviews to earn their spot.
“In the end we have our fourteen most involved and committed students in our community which is really cool to see,” said Hoog.
The homecoming pep rally takes place on October 20th and the homecoming game takes place October 21st. The 2023 king and queen will be announced during the pep rally.
