FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – University of Arkansas students were given the opportunity to creatively discuss climate change.
Today, University Programs and Zero Hour Arkansas teamed up to host “Collage for the Climate.” At this eco-friendly event, participants created collage pieces while conversing about climate change. Using scrap pieces from old books and magazines, their art pieces were supposed to reflect different experiences, concerns or hopes they shared in regards to climate change.
The “Collage for the Climate” event took place in the Arkansas Union International Connections Lounge this afternoon. All attendees had the option of getting their collage published in Zero Hour Arkansas’ ROOTS magazine. The ROOTS magazine highlights Arkansas initiative to combat climate change.
President of Zero Hour Arkansas, Amelia Southern Uribe, explains their mission for their “Collage for the Climate” event:
“Telling people that anyone can make art at any time at any point in their life is what we really want to do. So by offering free supplies, free food, we’re making it super accessible to anyone that wants to create art.”
