FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) In less than a week, the city of Springdale in Northwest Arkansas has endured an EF-3 tornado and is now being hit with heavy rain fall.

An EF-3 tornado, Enhanced Fujita Scale is described as strong, with winds estimated at 185-206 miles per hour. Damage is labeled as severe, this includes roofs and walls torn from homes, overturned trains, unrooted trees, and vehicles being lifted and thrown.

“Rain is coming into the start of the work week. This will happen on and off throughout the day,” KNWA Meteorologist Dan Skoff wrote on Twitter.

Skoff said the rain is heavily impacting the homes who were struck by the tornado last week.

“There is still a lot of homes that don’t have tarps on their roofs… so you get this rain that comes down and just gets everything soaked, Skoff said.

Thankfully no one as killed in this storm, but according to Skoff roughly 100 homes were damaged by it.

The worst part of this tornado is that it came without much of a warning. Skoff said the warning came out at 4:11 a.m and it lifted at 4:12 a.m.

“The storm formed very fast, but there were signs that it was producing. There needs to be more research in these types of tornados,” Skoff said.
