FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Flu season is still in full swing during the month of October. Students and faculty at the University of Arkansas can receive a preventative vaccine at the Pat Walker Health Center at the U of A with applicable health insurance. The vaccines cost $20 for students and $50 for faculty without insurance.

According to Zac Brown, the Assistant Director of Communications for the Pat Walker Health Clinic, flu vaccines are not 100% effective but they will help prevent the severity of the flu.

“The most important thing everyone needs to understand about the flu season is that it’s really unpredictable.”, said Brown.

The hours for the walk in clinic are 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Pat Walker Health clinic located at 525 Garland Ave in Fayetteville, Arkansas. You can also call 479-575-4451
