Safe Workplaces Boost the Economy in Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Majority of Arkansas employers will now see a decrease in payment for their workers’ compensation insurance. The National Council on Compensation Insurance recommended reductions of 15 percent. Governor Asa Hutchinson said this is due to a decrease in the number of work-related accidents recorded in the past two years.

Gov. Hutchinson also said the cut in costs will leave more money in employers’ pockets. Arkansas companies have already paid the lowest premium for workers’ compensation insurance and the new reduction only makes it easier and less expensive to do business in the state.

Not only is the announcement good news for the economy but also means the workplaces here are safer than ever.
