Arkansas has a new senator after he was sworn in at a ceremony earlier today. Republican John Cooper was elected to the State Senate seat that was previously filled by former Democratic Senator Paul Bookout. Cooper’s victory gives Republicans a 22 to 13 majority in the State Senate.
