It was another busy weekend for UAPD. A total of eight people were arrested, with alcohol offenses topping the charts. One student was arrested at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house for minor in possession of alcohol, fleeing, resisting arrest, and a fake I.D. Two thefts were also reported, both cases are still active.
Drunk driving arrests are down in Northwest Arkansas. In the past five years, the number of DWI arrests has dropped by 19% in the four largest cities. Officials don’t know the reason for this decrease yet. Arkansas also ranks below the national average for fatal accidents involving alcohol.
Fayetteville Public Schools have revised their school calendars to make-up for the lost snow days.
