    Same-Sex Marriage Ban Struck Down in North Carolina

    Same-sex couples are now able to get marriage licenses in North Carolina. A federal judge struck down the state’s ban on same-sex marriages on Friday. The verdict came after a lawsuit filed in April that challenged the state’s 2012 amendment. Appeals against the new ruling are not expected to succeed.
