FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – Religious activist, Cindy Smock, also known as Sister Cindy, returned to the University of Arkansas campus. She made an appearance last October, and is back for another round. During her last visit, she spoke about being closer to Jesus and staying away from hell.
Her “Hoe No Mo” motto brought in a large social media following. With over 400 thousand followers and 1 million views on her TikTok page, Smock encourages college students to speak their minds.
I had the chance to speak with her and ask why she continues to visit college campuses. “Let me entertain you… God is entertaining,” Smock said. “God gave us the gift to entertain so, who wants to be a bore.”
Sister Cindy promotes chastity and abstinence. “I am the leader of the Ho No Mo revolution and I will be talking a lot about sexual sin,” she said. “But the ultimate sin is not sex, it is hoeing on God.”
Many students said they find her insufferable, but attend her rallies anyway. They feel that her language towards the LGBTQIA+ community is harsh, and that she should be banned from visiting college campuses. Other students said they find her interesting, that she spreads an informative message, and stand with her and support what she preaches. Some Christians that attended the rally said that even though they do not agree with everything she says, they still want people to know the truth about Jesus.
There is no set date for when Sister Cindy will be back on the U of A campus, but her next stops include the University of Central Arkansas and Arkansas State.
