FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – The Associated Student Government (ASG), Alumni Association and the Office of Student Activities at the University of Arkansas (U of A) will co-host the annual Chancellor’s Ball on Wednesday, Oct. 22. The event is open to all students and features free food and live music from two local bands. Registration is not required. It will be located at George’s Majestic Lounge and is from 7 to 11 p.m.
Homecoming Court nominations opened on Sept. 4 with registered student organizations and Greek chapters invited to nominate candidates. The court will consist of seven men and seven women. The final king and queen will be announced at the Homecoming game during halftime on Nov. 1. Eligible candidates must tick off a list of requirements that includes completing at least 90 credit hours and planning to graduate in the 2025-2026 academic year.
ASG posted the Chancellor’s Ball updates on its Instagram starting on Sept. 22. The band announcements were made on Oct. 7. Malibu Moon and Mongolian Firefight will be performing on stage. Both bands are U of A student-led, with Malibu Moon being an artist under Hill Records, the university’s student-run entertainment label.
The Top 20 candidates for king and queen were announced on Oct. 8. The Vintage Razorback lookbook was posted on Oct. 10. At the Chancellor’s Ball, ASG will announce the Top 7 candidates. After the announcement, campaigning and voting will be ongoing until Oct. 29.
Other Homecoming events occurring during the week-long celebration include the Homecoming Parade and Homecoming Pep Rally and alumni activities like the Razorback Alumni Band and Razorback Spirit Program Alumni. The parade will be down Dickson Street while pep rally will be at the Greek Theatre.
The Razorback Alumni Band and Razorback Spirit Program Alumni invite U of A alumni to join the band and spirit squads for the Homecoming game against Mississippi State. Registration for the 2025 Razorback Alumni Band opened on Sept. 30 while the 2025 Razorback Spirit Squad Alumni invitation opened on Oct. 16.
