FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) — Charlie Kirk, 31, was killed by a singular shot while speaking at one of his many rallies on September 10, 2025.

- The suspect, Tyler Robinson, has been taken in to custody in relation to the shooting of Charlie Kirk. Robinson is currently being held at Utah County Jail.
- Robinson facing several initial charges, one of those being aggravated murder according to officials.
- Just last night, “one of Robinson’s family members reached out to a family friend, who then contacted authorities with information that Robinson had confessed to them or implied that he had committed the incident,” according to Utah Gov. Spencer Cox.
- Officials said investigators found a bolt-action rifle that showed writing “inscriptions” of sayings like “Hey fascist!”
Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), was known to bring the younger generation and others out to discuss controversial topics related to politics.
The University of Arkansas’ own TPUSA chapter here on campus, plans to hold a memorial service on September 11, at 5 p.m. at the Greek Amphitheater. The University of Arkansas Police Department (UAPD) will be present.
“This has been a very hard time for all of us. Emotions are quite reasonably high and we aren’t equipped to say anything more than this. Charlie lived an honorable life of service and sacrifice. His message for years has been that violence occurs when we cannot speak with one another. We need to learn to talk to one another again,” the TPUSA chapter at the University of Arkansas said.
According to TPUSA’s website, the organization “works to educate young people about the importance of limited government, free markets, and freedom.”

According to CNN, former Representative Bob McEwen said Kirk’s family was at the rally when he was shot.

- Several “breakthroughs” have been made in the manhunt for the suspect that killed Kirk, the Utah Department of Public Safety commissioner said during a news conference.
- The FBI released photos of a person of interest and offered a reward of $100,000 for any information, according to CNN.
- The shooter arrived on campus at 11:52 a.m. local time according to Commissioner Beau Mason.
- Investigators say the shooter went up to a roof, then to the other side of the building, jumped off of the building, and then fled to a nearby neighborhood.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, Arkansas Governor, said in a tweet:
“America witnessed a cowardly act of evil today. To Charlie and his family – well done, good and faithful servant. America is better because of you.”
Steve Womack, Arkansas Representative, said in tweet:
“Political violence has no place in our country – ever. My prayers are with Charlie Kirk and his family.”
“Charlie Kirk was only 31-years-old, a husband and father of two young children. No matter the divisions in our nation
Along with a tweet from President Donal Trump on ‘X’, which said:
“The Great, even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie. He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us. Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family.”
This incident could raise questions regarding gun policies on college campuses.
