Hog Hacks: UARK Student Tips You Didn’t Know You Needed

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark (UATV)- From free gear rentals to a console gaming room, the university offers more than just classrooms and lecture halls. Here are some insider tips that will save students time, money, and stress.

ACADEMIC AND STUDY RESOURCES

Through Class+, a program that houses a multitude of academic support programs housed within the CORD, students can schedule one-on-one meetings with a writing consultant to help at any stage of the writing process. Appointments can be booked online or in person via the writing studio and can be tailored to meet each student’s unique needs. 

Class+ also offers students private or group tutoring sessions for any UofA course, as well as a multitude of study clubs for a wide variety of subjects. For those needing additional help navigating the university, the Class+ connection desk in the CORD serves as a central support hub. 

Students are also offered the ability to reserve a private room for themselves and others where they can choose the size of the room and exact time they need it for.

PRINTING AND TECH RESOURCES

Each semester, students receive a $35 printing credit for use at any Tech Spot location across campus. Printing can be done easily by uploading files into printsmart.

Laptops are available for checkout at the Lab Tech desk on Mullins Library’s second floor, with details and reservations available on their website. Students can also use campus tech labs at various locations across campus. 

The university also offers students the ability to reserve a console gaming station for up to five hours with the options of: blue station, green station, orange station, pink station, purple station, and yellow station for their personal leisure.

EQUIPMENT RENTALS AND RECREATION

For outdoor adventures, UREC Outdoors allows students the opportunity to rent out equipment such as; camping, cycling, climbing, and paddling gear with details on cost, pick up/ drop off, care and fees, and rental 

On campus, students can also reserve sports fields, join club teams, or participate in intramural sports.

TRANSPORTATION

Free Razorback transit takes students  around both campus and Fayetteville, with live tracking available on the Passio Go app. For shorter trips, electric bike and scooter rentals are available all through Fayetteville through apps like Veo and Spin for your personal convenience.

Whether it’s finding the perfect spot to hangout with friends, save on printing, or getting outside for a weekend trip, the University of Arkansas offers countless ways for students to make the most of their time here on campus.
