Fayetteville, Ark. (UATV) — The Associated Student Government announced their election results of their general election with a big celebration at the Union Mall today.
Voting took place from March 10 at 9 a.m.. til March 12 at 4 p.m. Any undergraduate student was eligible to vote.
The election announcement celebration took place on March 17 at 12:45 p.m. in the Union Mall. Anyone the campus community was invited to the announcement.
The results of the 2025-2026 election are:
- President: Amanda Hux
- Vice President: Laney Kellybrew
- Treasurer: Alexandria May
- Secretary: Brylan Cole
- Chair of Senate: Alexander Dennis
- Chief Justice: Paige Williams
There were also 26 senators elected for each academic college.
Newly election ASG president Amanda Hux said that she is really excited to help students with her team this year.
“…Allowing students to know I am accessible to them. I really hope they do know My email, (and) my office is open to them. that I can be approachable and that I will be approachable to them. I think thats the marker of the beginning of the rest of our term in office .We just want students to feel like there is a bridge between them and and their student government. thats what I’m really excited about for this year.” said President Amanda Hux.
The three focal points of their ticket was community, safety and transparency. She hopes she can accomplish this for students this upcoming school year.
ASG’s whole purpose is to support many registered student organizations and help with the betterment of the University of Arkansas as a whole.
University of Arkansas Chancellor Robinson thinks that student government is essential for the university leadership to know what the students want.
“It’s one of the ways in which leadership knows what the students want and what they are concerned about. That matters alot to me. I made my time as Chancellor really about the students and trying to enhance their opportunity and their sense of belonging and mattering on campus.”
