FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – Early voting has officially begun across Arkansas, providing voters with more convenience and opportunities to cast their ballots ahead of Election Day. Depending on the type of election, residents can take advantage of early voting either 7 or 15 days before the official election date, offering flexibility for those with busy schedules or anyone looking to avoid long lines.
In most counties, early voting is conducted at the county clerk’s office. However, several counties, including Washington County, have expanded their off-site voting locations. In these areas, voters have a variety of early voting sites to choose from, making it easier than ever to participate in the election process.
Executive Director of the Washington County Clerk’s office, Jennifer Price, emphasized the efforts to make voting accessible to everyone.
“We’re encouraging everyone to early vote; the County Clerk’s office has plenty of resources to do so,” said Price. “We have more voting sites than we’ve had in the past this year, so we’re very excited to see how it turns out.”
One of the most popular early voting locations is the Fayetteville Public Library. Assistant Manager of Circulation, Gretchen Allen, highlighted the library’s role in the community during this election cycle.
“We’re very fortunate to be one of the main voting sites in the area,” said. “We’ve already had more than 200 voters on the first day, and we’re very excited to see how many people end up coming out to vote.”
