FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – October marks a month of Halloween celebrations, and local bar Pinpoint is no stranger to joining in on the fun.
Last week, the popular Nightmare on Block Street made its return to Pinpoint and will continue until Nov. 2.
Bo Counts, owner of Pinpoint and creator of Nightmare on Block Street, said the amount of customers they see during the month is almost overwhelming.
“We have people come from all over the place to visit Nightmare on Block Street, ” said Counts. “It’s not uncommon for us to have guests that travel each year from the surrounding states from places like Tulsa, OKC, Springfield, and Little Rock just to check it out!”
Counts, who has been organizing Halloween events for nearly 20 years, said that each year the event gets bigger and more exciting. One of his favorite parts of the pop-up? The costumes his employees wear each week.
“Being able to see the looks on people’s faces when they come in and look at our installations makes all the work worth it,” he said.
Visitors also appreciate the unique atmosphere of Pinpoint’s pop-up. Lindsey Bush, who visited with her family, said she chose the bar because it offered a more laid-back vibe than others on Dickson Street.
“It gave my family a fun and spooky atmosphere that they will remember and were quite pleased with. The Halloween-themed drinks added to the environment and made the night even more fun.”
Bush said that Pinpoint’s pinball machines made the experience particularly memorable for her parents.
“Having the pinball machines was great for going out with parents because it reminded them of when they were our age,” she said. “It was the perfect bar for the night, so much fun.”
Bush’s family was impressed by the pop-up, and she was excited that everyone had a great time.
“It lived up to expectations. I just wanted everyone visiting to have a good time, and they all said Pinpoint was their favorite bar of the weekend,” said Bush.
Despite being located off the square and not directly on Dickson, Bush said the walk was worth it.
“The location of Pinpoint is a bit of a downfall, but it’s only a short walk to the rest of the Dickson bars. The hotdog stand in the back with spooky-themed hotdogs was so fun—great vibes.”
Bush added that she would love to visit Pinpoint again, both with family and friends, and plans to make it a more frequent stop in the future.
