FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) -The Latine/Hispanic Heritage Month Calendar Committee announced Nuevos Horizonte: Shaping the Future.
The calendar features events, workshops, and social gatherings designed to celebrate Latin American cultures during National Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated every year from September 15 to October 15. This celebration honors the contributions of Latin American and Latine figures in the United States.
The month coincides with the independence days of several Latin American nations. Including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua on September 15; Mexico on September 16; Chile on September 18; and Belize on September 21.
There are over 3,000 Latin students on campus and 14 Latin-based student organizations. The committee’s events are designed to foster engagement and build relationships.
