FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – Football season kicked off on Thursday with the Hogs 70-0 win against University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

With home games right around the corner, here are some tips to have a fun and safe gameday experience.

“The most important thing is to have a plan for the day.” said UAPD Captain Greg Foster.

Having a solid plan starts with parking and traffic. Foster suggests people follow the routes published on the Athletic Department website.

Foster said, “Plan on having a good food base and hydration leading up to the day of the game.”

For the first game there will be water fill stations located on the concourse. Foster said that the games in September usually see more medical issues due to the heat. He advised that staying hydrated is important for avoiding heat related illnesses.

There will be first aid stations located on all sides of the football stadium, uniformed police officers or security officers at each tunnel entrance, as well as Allied Security personnel throughout the facility to assist anyone in need.

“If you want to report a dangerous situation but not necessarily an emergency, you can text directly to 479-575-2222 as well as send photos.” said Foster.
