FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – Applications for Associated Student Government’s Freshman Leadership Forum and Fall Senate Vacancy Elections opened early Friday morning.

Freshman Leadership Forum is the branch of ASG dedicated to providing select freshmen an opportunity to engage in professional development to set them up for leadership positions both inside and outside of student government.

Freshman Leadership Forum Coordinator Hadley Burke said, “Freshmen should apply because it is an excellent opportunity to make friends, find a college mentor, and gain the skills and connections needed to be a leader on campus. Many of our students become presidents of their desired organizations or go on to attend competitive graduate schools, but more than that, our students become community builders and servant-leaders on campus.”

ASG is also taking candidates for their fall senate vacancy elections. To run for senate, candidates must be in good academic standing, as well as attend a zoom meeting or take an online quiz.

“Senators can look forward to making a difference in their community through Legislation, Advocacy, and Service.” said Chair of Senate Logan Martin. “Senate is a hands-on environment where you will meet people from all across campus, it is such an impactful way to serve your community and make friends at the same time.”

Applications for Freshman Leadership Forum close on Aug. 30, and applications for senate candidates close Sep. 8. Elections for ASG Senate will be held on Sep. 9 and 10. Links to all of ASG’s applications can be found on their HogSync page.
