FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) –  The Campus Sexual and Relationship Violence Center (SRVC) is looking to fill after-hours faculty and staff volunteer advocate positions.

The volunteer advocates serve on rotation and answer calls received between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Occasionally, volunteer advocates may meet with a victim of sexual assault at the UAPD station after hours to assist in the victim’s reporting process.

“Our volunteer faculty and staff victim advocates serve a tremendous role in ensuring someone is available at any hour to assist students in the crisis moment related to sexual and/or relationship violence,” said Director of the Campus Sexual and Relationship Violence Center Dr. Mary A. Wyandt-Hiebert.

Advocacy training is provided by the SRVC. Following the initial report, the center will handle all follow-up and advocacy needs.

Applicants must currently serve in an appointed classified or non-classified staff or faculty position.

“Their longevity with and knowledge of the University strengthens the program as they provide support and information in a trauma-informed way,” said Wyandt-Hiebert.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. on October 12.
