By: Emma Rasmussen

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV)- Peter Nickeas is joining The Center for Ethics in Journalism this semester as a visiting distinguished professor.

“I’ve loved being in Arkansas so far,” says Nickeas “everyone has been so kind and welcoming.”

Nickeas has previously worked at the Chicago Tribune as a reporter and at CNN as a senior writer. He is a specialist in data journalism and investigative reporting.

Nickeas will focus on ethics and his experience handling and reporting traumatic events in the news. As part of his role, Nickeas will be giving lectures and holding discussions about how to handle ethical problems in journalism.

Nickeas says he wants to help students who have an interest in media careers find their own curiosity and purpose.

“It can be incredibly demanding, incredibly fulfilling work. And to the extent anyone sees that and thinks it’s for them – I want to be helpful in that journey.”
