Fayetteville, Ark. (UATV) – The Associated Student Government Judiciary is hosting a series of debates between candidates for student body executive offices.

“We have debates so that all of the candidates come together and stand on the same stage. We ask the exact same questions and be put on the same playing fields so that any voters can come and hear about different initiatives,” said Allie Rosen, candidate for treasurer.

A debate between treasurer candidates Allie Rosen, Dannien Moreno and Iana Ruheta was held on Monday. The debate also featured secretary candidates Brady Voss, Breannah Small, and Campbell Babin.

Tonight’s debate is between Presidential Candidates Cael Lossenegger, Erick Soto and Peyton Fair. Vice President candidates, Gary Jackson and Hailey Hoog will also participate.

Wednesday night will be a Town Hall forum. Members of the audience will have the opportunity to ask their own questions for the candidates.

“In the spirit of democracy, it’s just great to allow voters to ask questions from all of their candidates. It allows voters to see them compared to one another and decide who they want to vote for.”

Voting for the 2023 ASG General Election begins Monday, March 6th at 9 p.m. The voting period closes at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 8th.
