Fayetteville, Ark. (UATV) – The Fayetteville Board of Education is holding interviews for its superintendent position.
Two special meetings will be held to interview two candidates for the position. The announcement comes after the Board announced last Friday that two additional candidates had been added to the search. According to a press release, the decision is not taken lightly.
“The school board members fully understand how important this decision is to our school district and to our community,” said the President of the school board, Nika Waitsman.
The Board voted unanimously to hold in-person zoom interviews for Dr. Jeannine Porter and Dr. Jonathan Mulford. Porter currently serves as the Chief of Marketing and Communications for a school district in Irving, Texas. Mulford works as the Deputy Superintendent of Operations for the Springfield public school in Missouri.
“We want to make absolutely certain that we have thoroughly examined all of our options in making this decision, and we determined that additional conversations with Dr. Porter and Dr. Mulford should be part of our deliberations.”
Mulford will be interviewed Monday, March 6th. Porter will follow suit on Wednesday, March 8th. They were a part of the original group of six applicants who were selected during the first round of interviews in January.
The next superintendent will assume their role on July 1st, 2023. Dr. John L Colbert, the current superintendent will retire in June of 2023.
