FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – Valentine’s Day is the biggest sale day for ZuZu’s Petals and Gifts.
Many people prepared for Valentine’s Day ahead of time by ordering flowers. However, some may wait until the last minute to begin their shopping. Owner of local Zuzu’s Petals and Gifts, Cindy Stevenson said that those last minute purchases add up.
“We basically do a month’s worth of work in one day on Valentine’s Day, so it’s totally different than every other day. We have to limit the product we can sell, so we try to make things in bulk and sell them that way,” Stevenson said.
Stevenson said that prepping for Valentine’s Day is difficult because dealing with fresh flowers is time sensitive. She said that the reason Valentine’s Day is so busy is because people wait until the last minute.
“The thing about Valentine’s Day is guys wait until the last minute and so it’s really hard, it’s the most stressful thing for an owner because we don’t know if they’re going to order or not,” Stevenson said. “It never fails on Valentine’s Day, there’s this flood of guys and they all need flowers, it’s crazy, the entire shop is full of men.”
Today is the big day for those flower shops and the last minute shoppers.
