FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – Breast cancer can be present in a person without the indication of any symptoms, this is why local hospitals and clinics strain the importance of routine examination to maintain awareness.

Northwest Arkansas is home to many clinics that offer accessible services for those afflicted with breast cancer.

The Washington County Health Unit are a participating provider for The BreastCare Program, a statewide administration focused on raising convenience for screening and diagnostic services.

The BreastCare program requires applicants to meet criteria regarding their residence, income level, age and insurance status. Persons who are accepted to the program can be administered free clinical breast exams, Pap tests, and mammograms.

Washington Regional and J.B. Hunt Transport Services also have a chargless program designed to cater towards those diagnosed with cancer. The Cancer Support Home is funded by grants and donors to offer free overnight lodging, wig and prothesis boutique and general support for cancer patients.
