Ongoing investigation for fatal shooting at Fayetteville McDonalds

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – The Fayetteville Police Department is investigating a homicide that took place just outside a McDonald’s on N. College Avenue Tuesday night.

Shots were fired at approximately 9:55 pm according to information from the police department. Police say an officer was close enough to hear the gunshots and was able to respond immediately. When the officer arrived at the scene, he found one victim with a gunshot wound. Police say the responding officers provided medical assistance to the victim until medical personnel arrived.

Police say EMS then transported the wounded victim to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim’s identity is still confidential, but it has been stated that the victim was a 28-year-old male. Police say he was shot at a close range and, based on their investigation thus far, they believe “this was not a random act of violence.”

According to information provided from the police department, the suspect has not yet been located, but they will actively be providing more information when they can. This is a developing story, more information will be provided when it becomes available.
