FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – The U of A celebrates Earth Week from April 18-22 by providing various ways for students, faculty, and staff to help clean our community and planet.
Director of the Office for Sustainability, Eric Boles, said, “Earth Week is the perfect opportunity to acknowledge the process we’ve made while educating our community about the challenges ahead.”
The events for the week include a free clothing swap, a garden workday, and an Earth Day fair on Friday at the Union Mall. Each event this week is intended for students to gain a greater knowledge of how to practice sustainability and to learn how to protect the Earth from our footprint.
The Office for Sustainability offers its second annual Earth Week Passport for students to document the events they attended. The U of A’s Office for Sustainability’s Todd Hansen said, “The Sustainability Passport is a great way for students to engage with sustainability on many levels and through different lenses.”
The stamps collected can be redeemed for prizes, like pollinator seed packets, Patagonia backpacks and ENO hammocks.
