FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – On the back of two solid performances against conference opponents, Jaylin Williams earned his spot as SEC co-Player of the Week.
The 6-foot-10 sophomore posted multiple career-highs in matchups against South Carolina and Texas A&M this past week.
In the Razorback’s double-digit win over the Gamecocks, Williams recorded a career-high 19 points, supplemented by a career-high nine made free-throws in 10 attempts. All this was achieved despite a dip in minutes due to foul trouble.
Against Texas A&M on Sunday, Williams filled out the stat sheet, recording a 14-point, 11-rebound double-double with three assists, three blocks and a career-high six steals. With 13 seconds remaining, Williams hit a clutch jumper with two left on the shot clock that secured the Hogs’ 76-73 win over the Aggies.
Walker Kessler, a 7-foot-1 sophomore for No. 1 ranked Auburn, shared the honors with Williams after Kessler put up 19 points against No. 12 Kentucky on 80 percent shooting.
