FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – Due to a labor shortage, regulars at Herman’s Ribhouse have volunteered their time and services to wait and bus tables.
The restaurant has been one of Fayetteville’s most popular eateries for decades, and during the Covid pandemic, the popularity of the rib house remained constant.
Staffing, on the other hand, did not, and that’s when the community stepped in to help owner Nick Wright not have to close his doors.
“They said we’re not gonna fail, we’re not gonna see you close,” Wright said. “They started calling my wife saying we’ll volunteer our time. I didn’t believe it, until I saw it. They come in, and they work. It’s one of the most impressive things I’ve ever seen.”
In lieu of money, Wright offered these workers gift cards.
