Vaccine Mandate

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – President Joe Biden has installed a six step plan to combat the effect of covid-19 on our country.

The Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is working on requiring businesses with over 100 employees to require the covid-19 vaccine.

Meaning all employees who cannot or will not take the vaccine will have to be terminated.

Governor Asa Hutchinson released a press brief stating how he does not agree that businesses should have to require vaccines for employees. “I support businesses being able to require vaccination, but it’s their own independent choice for their workplace,” Hutchinson said.

Fayetteville’s local businesses like Big Lots, Sally’s beauty supply, and Harps Grocery store said so far their locations have not been told how this will affect them.

Manager at Daisy Exchange, Courtney Hart, said she has not received the vaccine and does not tell her employees they have to either.

Although she wears her mask in store, employees and customers are not required to.

Hart said she does not understand the hostility towards the vaccine, and hopes to get hers soon.

Employees at Big Lots were told to return to the mask mandate in store and were encouraged to receive their vaccine.

Biden Talked about how roughly 80 million Americans remain unvaccinated, but with the upcoming safety mandate the unvaccinated numbers will soon diminish.

UATV will keep the public updated as the vaccine mandate becomes a reality.
