FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – University of Arkansas students graduating from campus this spring are invited to participate in the First Destination Survey to report their plans for after graduation.
The survey serves as a resource for both possible future and current students’ career planning. In order to ensure the most current and accurate data, students can access the survey multiple times through mid-August.
The University Career Development Center is collaborating with all University of Arkansas colleges to collect their graduates’ post-graduation data. The data will be put into a database of students who apply for graduation each term.
Students are able to learn what their fellow graduates are doing after May. Students can access this data and use it as resources to help plan their futures.
As students complete the survey, they will receive feedback on their plans and how it compares to the other data from the rest of the graduating students.
Senior Irene Levinson said she’s glad she has access to something to help her with networking.
“I think it’s a great idea,” Levinson said. “It gives me a way to guide myself in planning my future.”
Levinson said that she also wants to be able to keep up with her fellow graduate friends and see where everyone is going to be.
“In the last four years I’ve made a tremendous amount of friends,” Levinson said. “Being able to keep up with them and their plans after graduation in May is just cool to me.”
Levinson said that with this survey, it will be easier to keep up with everyone.
“It’s hard trying to keep up on social media,” Levinson said. “I think that if my friends were to participate in this survey, it would be easier than asking them or trying to keep up with them if they don’t post much on social media.”
Once the survey is complete in mid-August, the University Career Development center will report this data to several different agencies. On behalf of the University of Arkansas, the data will be sent to the U.S. News & World Report, National Association of Colleges and Employers, Princeton Review survey, Peterson’s Undergraduate survey, College Board survey, and Wintergreen survey.
Faculty and staff are encouraged to have their graduating students participate in this survey. The goal is to help graduating students in planning their futures once leaving the University of Arkansas.
Students can find the link to participate in the survey on Handshake or in an email that will be sent out later this week.
