FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) — The Arkansas men’s basketball team decisively defeated the visiting Florida Gators 75-64.
It was quite the game for freshman guard Davonte Davis who shot an even 50% from the floor and went 4-4 from the charity stripe. Davis finished with 18 points.
Three other Razorbacks scored in double figures. Justin Smith finished with 15 points on 7-9 shooting, and Moses Moody and Jalen Tate both finished with 14.
Both squads struggled immensely from three-point range, the Hogs finishing with 27% from deep and the Gators finishing with a dismal 19%.
The Gators came off a 13-day hiatus from basketball activity due to health and safety protocols.
Guard Tyree Appleby was one of the few bright spots on the Gators, shooting 6-14 from the court and finishing with 16 points. However, six of Appleby’s eight misses came from long range.
The Hogs will hit the road for their next game against the Texas A&M Aggies this Saturday (Feb. 20) in Reed Arena with a 7:30pm tip-off.
