WASHINGTON D.C. (UATV) — The Centers for Disease Control release new guidance to help improve your mask’s effectiveness.
The center lists two important ways to make sure your mask works: making sure it fits snugly and picking a mask with layers.
They also recommend using a mask with a nose wire and checking for gaps around the covering.
The CDC also looks to remind everyone that a mask is not a substitute for social distancing. Masks should still be worn in addition to staying at least 6 feet apart, especially when indoors around people who don’t live in your household.
