Fayetteville, Ark. (UATV) – A new Arkansas bill aims to eliminate sales and use taxes for feminine hygiene products.

The bill is primarily sponsored by representative Aaron Pilkington and senator Breanne Davis.

It would exempt items like tampons and pads from Arkansas’ sales and use tax.

While the bill has received bipartisan support in the states’ government two local law makers took sides over twitter.

Representative Pilkington voiced his support for the new bill, saying he’s “Happy to be sponsoring this bill. We shouldn’t be taxing such vital products.”

Fellow congressman and state Senator Bob Ballinger replied to the tweet saying quote, “We’re killing this you sissy.”
