FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – The Arkansas Razorbacks men’s basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak and swept the season series against the Auburn Tigers with a 75-73 win.
The Hogs trailed at the half by double digits, but Desi Sills put his foot on the gas and accelerated the Razorbacks to a 3-4 record against SEC opponents.
Sills racked up 22 points on 58.3% shooting, and shot a solid 80% from the charity stripe in 32 minutes off the bench. This is a breakout game for Sills, whose struggles have been apparent. In the last game against Alabama, Sills made only 1 of 8 attempts, scoring a total of 3 points in 22 minutes played.
This was an unusual game for the freshman guard out of Little Rock, Moses Moody, who has led the team in scoring on the season, but went an underwhelming 2 of 9 from the floor and 1 of two at the foul line, which gave him 5 points on the game.
The Hogs’ long-range shooting improved slightly, but it seems the team is on a downward trend for three-point attempts, only shooting 15 this game with 4 falling.
For the Tigers, freshman guard and former 5-star recruit Sharife Cooper put up an offensive fight, shooting 47.4% and scoring 25 points. In his 6 attempts from the line, Cooper got 5 to fall, and made 2 of 6 attempts from the arc.
With this win, the Razorbacks advance to 11-4 on the season.
