FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (UATV) – Following back-to-back road losses in Baton Rouge and Tuscaloosa, the Arkansas Razorbacks men’s basketball team is looking to secure a win over an unranked Auburn team at Bud Walton Arena. The Hogs are 10-4 on the season, but both teams hold a 2-4 record against SEC opponents.
Against an unranked LSU team, the Razorbacks were shot out of the arena, shooting only 34.2% from the field, worse than the Tigers’ percentage from three—36.8%. The team’s shooting struggles extended beyond the arc with only 8 three-pointers made out of the 31 attempted.
Against the number 16 Alabama team, Arkansas’ shooting struggles continued, shooting 33.3% from the field despite nearly slicing their attempts from long range in half. The long ball only fell 4 times for the Hogs against the Crimson Tide out of 17 attempts. Alabama, in turn, shot a stellar 41.7% from three despite taking double the amount that Arkansas attempted.
Arkansas’ offense is led by Moses Moody, who across the two games scored 46 points in 71 minutes. Against Alabama, Moody scored 3 of the team’s 4 made threes, and shot 40% from the field.
“Clearly, we’ve got to get a lot better in a lot of different areas,” said head coach Eric Musselman after Saturday’s loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide “…we’ve got a lot of work ahead of us…”
The Hogs take on the Tigers on Nolan Richardson Court at 8pm tonight (Jan. 20).
