FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.-Coronavirus cases reported on college campuses make up a small amount of the cases in the state. Every public, four-year university in Arkansas has maintained a webpage with some form of a case breakdown since classes began- some more thorough than others.
According to the universities’ reporting, there are 142 active cases across the campuses in the state. Across the same campuses, there are 2934 cumulative cases. This includes all the major universities noted below.
According to the Arkansas Department of Health, there have been 88,071 cumulative cases of COVID-19 in the state. It reports 6,708 active cases. Active cases reported on state universities account for between two and three percent of all active cases.
The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville reports the highest number of active cases at 33, followed by the University of Central Arkansas with 24. The University of Arkansas also reports the highest number of cumulative cases: 1,673. Arkansas State University has the second-highest cumulative count at 548.
The University of Arkansas at Monticello reports the lowest number of cumulative cases with 27. The University does not report the number of active cases- only the number of positive tests. They report five positive tests in the last two weeks. Henderson state University reports only five active cases- the least of any.
