Razorback Football Game Days Will Look Different This Season

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Hogs kick off their first home game this weekend, however this year, game day at the Razorback stadium will look different.

Due to COVID-19, Razorback Football is working with the Arkansas Department of Health to enforce safety procedures for people attending the games.

The Senior Associate Athletic Director for Public Relations, Kevin Trainor, said it is important fans, specifically students, should familiarize themselves with the new protocols.

“There are a number of things that maybe they have done in the past, whether it’s tailgating or other activities that we would love to be able to do again.” Said Trainor. “But at this point, it’s really just trying to hold a game safely.”

Traditional game day experiences such as tailgating, HogTown, football players ‘running through the A’ or spirit squads on the sidelines will be eliminated for the entire 2020 season.

Students who currently own a Student Access Pass will have to enter a lottery on the Monday of a game week in order to get a ticket. Those students will be notified if they have or have not received a ticket by Wednesday.

“Unfortunately, we would love to have all our students at the game, but with limited capacity, at least students can make plans in advance.” Said Trainor.

Other protocols the University has put in place for game day include mandatory face coverings, social distancing guidelines throughout the stadium, mobile ordering and grab and go locations for concessions will be in effect on game day.

“We’re just asking students, fans, anyone involved to play their part so that we can continue having a safe environment.” Said Trainor.
