FAYETTEVILLE, Ark — Many students at the University of Arkansas are scrambling to find locations where they can get tested for COVID-19. Once a student is informed of their exposure or begin to experience symptoms they have to find where they can get tested and get quick results.
One student discovered she was exposed and had to hurry to find where should could get a rapid test.
UA Sophomore, Emily Meade got a rapid test done at MANA Urgent Care. Meade said,
“I got there at 7:20 and was done by 8. They called me with my results by 1:00.”
She had to provide health insurance and her driver’s license before getting tested. She said she didn’t have to pay and felt comfortable while getting tested.
“They were really nice, and got it done as quickly as they could,” said Meade.
However, another student had a longer wait when she went to get tested at the Washington County Health Department.
UA Senior, Abbie Kathol, said she had to wait in her car for over an hour before getting her rapid test.
“There weren’t that many people in the parking lot, so it wasn’t the best experience.” said Kathol.
