PARIS, Ark. — Toilet Paper is ‘rolling’ off the shelves and some stores have tips on how to get your hands on these most wanted items.
The COVID-19 has forced many businesses to temporarily close their doors, lay off workers, and stop shipments. One industry that is not just excelling but ‘flying off the shelves’ is the cleaning industry. Most stores are unable to keep a single roll of toilet paper, bottle of hand sanitizer, or Clorox wipes on their shelves.
While this is great for businesses who sell those products, the consumer is finding it hard to shop for their everyday items. Less than a month ago buying toilet paper in bulk started trending and huge stores like Walmart started selling out of their supply, it has only gotten worse. One Dollar Tree worker told me that “We can’t even keep sanitizer. We only got four bottles in our last shipment and in the first 5 minutes one man had bought them all.” Due to this impulse buying from consumers there is now a shortage of masks, toilet paper, Lysol, Clorox wipes, baby wipes and much more. Another local shopper, Linda Barnett, informs me that she has been to her local stores several times and even “produce is going fast.”
While people are preparing for the worst due to COVID-19, some parents of young children are struggling to even find diapers for their babies when they are in desperate need of them. One mom, Lauren Simmons, told me “it is hard to find things for my child that he needs because people are going crazy and buying them all out.”
If you are one of those people who always miss the shipment of toilet paper at your local Walmart the link below will inform you of delivery times for the Dollar Store, Dollar Tree, and Walmart in Paris, Arkansas. Walmart gets its shipment trucks in ‘different times of the week’ according to a worker so to be prepared to visit every other day to make sure you are able to get the items you need. The Dollar Tree gets its deliveries on Wednesday at 7 am and suggests shoppers to get there early Wednesday mornings to avoid empty shelves. The last store in Paris that sells cleaning products, The Dollar Store, has shipments come in on Saturday mornings and tells people they should be ready to stand in line to wait to purchase restocks of products.

While most stores are limiting ‘1 product per person’ if you visit the local stores at the times of delivery you are more likely to get your hands on one of these hot commodities.
